1. Tree Nursery / Planting

We nurse and plant native tree species like the threatened Prunus africana, Carapa procera, Pittosporium manii, the Newtonia camerunensis, Syzygium staundtii, Croton macrotachyst, Maesa lanceolata, Bridelia speciosa, etc.

2. Environmental Education

Environmental Education inspires the Forest Users, women, children at home and/or schools and youths around the Kilum to become lovers of nature to ensure the sustainable conservation of the Environment and the Kilum Forest.

3. Agriculture and Livestock

We engage in agricultural development by Introducing modern agricultural techniques that improve yields to local farmers; Promote livelihoods of indigenous people around the Kilum Forest Area; Support food security.

4. Healthcare and Sanitation

We champion the fight against the covid-19 pandemic in oku-cameroon through Community Sensitization and Provision of sanitary kits; Coordinate the vaccination of children against vaccine preventable diseases; etc.

The Rural Development and Environmental Restoration Guard (RUDERG) is a non profit community-based organization legalized by the competent administrative authority with Authorization Number 01/AR/E.26/ALPAS/CB/PS/118.

It’s Head Office Is based in Elak-Oku Sub Division, Bui Division of the North West Region of Cameroon. RUDERG-CAM was created to promote rural development and to seek solutions to environmental problems in Cameroon.

Our communities are plagued with many societal problems that impair meaningful development and good health, RUDERG-CAM recognizes that solutions to these problems can only come through joint efforts from all persons, civil society organizations and stakeholders.

RUDERG-CAM believes that ‘To Breath, We Must Save Trees” and that nurturing nature through sustainable environmental practices is the best way to mitigate universal environmental problems like Global warming, Climate Change, Droughts and Desertification.
